Coast of Punta de Teno, Lighthouse with "La Gomera" in the background |
The drive to
Punta de Teno in the FULL HD video is of course a bit "exaggerated" and it does not look as
crazy and dangerous on video as it in reality is. The street is most likely still limited to drive or sometimes totally forbidden. Believe me, with a 2,39m wide and 7m long motorhome it was quite a challenge. Watch it fullscreen ;-)

A nice lighthouse and great place to enjoy sunsets |

Scenic plateau to enjoy the view |

Not really a green paradise but still some intersting fauna

General Franco's house |
There is only one house in Punta de Teno, and it's a very special one.
General Franco lived here.
Maybe he chose this place because it was easy to control access and because it was
quiet and very scenic.
It's a quite dangerous road that brings you here and you have to drive it on your own risk. That's why not so many tourists end up here. They come anyways to visit the lighthouse and enjoy great sunsets here on Tenerife's most western spot.

Nature makes your stay here spectacular |

Now these are waves! |

Could not get enough of these waves ... |
We had the privilege to stay here for Silvester 2011. We celebrated totally alone and could see the firework from Puerto de Santiago behind "Los Gigantes". Yes, the beginning of 2012 was very special :-) .
This is a very
wild, romantic and beautiful land/seascape you will never forget.

Los Gigantes |
That is spectacular scenery. How I'd love to see it in person! Who was driving when you made that video? Or was the camera attached to the motor home?
ReplyDeleteYes, Punta de Teno is spectacular. I heard the street is now blocked completely. 2012 I was driving and my 5d was on a tripod in the cabin. I'm thinking of getting a dashcam so it's easier to record.
